Delete your ApplyRight account
You can ask us to delete your ApplyRight app account and the personal information in it at any time. You do not need to reinstall the app to do this.
How to ask for deletion
- In the app: sign in, open Account, scroll to Delete account and tap Request account deletion, then confirm.
- By email, without the app: send an email to info@applyright.net from the email address you use to sign in, with the subject "Delete my ApplyRight account".
We reply by email within five working days to confirm we have received your request. To protect you, we may ask you to confirm the request from the email address linked to your account.
What we delete
Within one month of your request, we close your access and permanently delete:
- your sign-in account and any Google or Apple sign-in links;
- your profile, settings and notification choices;
- your job search brief, photo and certificates;
- your chat messages and the files shared in the chat;
- your feedback on applications and drafts, and your meeting bookings;
- the notification registrations of your devices.
Backups of the database are overwritten automatically within 30 days after deletion.
What we keep, and why
- Invoices and payment records for six years, because UK tax law requires it. These are held in our accounting systems, not in the app.
- A short record of your request (your name, email address and the date we completed it), so we can show that we deleted your information.
- Information needed for a legal claim, only if a claim is ongoing, and only until it is resolved.
Applications we have already sent to employers are held by those employers under their own privacy policies. If you would like us to withdraw an application, message your consultant before you delete your account.
Good to know
- Deleting your account cannot be undone. If you would like a copy of your documents, download them from Documents in the app first, or ask your consultant.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your package or entitle you to a refund. Those are covered by the ApplyRight Terms and Conditions of Service.
- If you only want to stop emails or phone notifications, you can switch them off in Account instead.
